My skin is on the oily side, should I put oil on my face?
Using a face oil on oily skin may seem counterintuitive at first, but it can actually be a beneficial addition to your skincare routine.
Ways a face oil can help;
- Balancing sebum production: Oily skin tends to produce excessive sebum, leading to a shiny and greasy complexion. However, applying a lightweight, non-comedogenic face oil can help balance sebum production. When the skin is adequately hydrated, it sends signals to the sebaceous glands to produce less oil, thereby reducing excessive oiliness.
- Hydration without heaviness: Oily skin often lacks proper hydration due to the misconception that moisturising can make it oilier. However, using the right face oil can provide lightweight hydration without clogging the pores. Certain oils, such as jojoba, mimic the skin's natural sebum and can help regulate moisture levels, resulting in a healthier-looking complexion.
Nourishing the skin: Oily skin can still benefit from essential nutrients and antioxidants that face oils provide. Our face oils are rich in vitamins and fatty acids, which nourish and protect the skin. These ingredients can help repair the skin barrier, reduce inflammation, and promote a more balanced complexion.
How to use:
Massage 3 or 4 drops into slightly damp skin after your morning cleanse. If using alongside other skincare products such as a serum or moisturiser, your face oil should be the last layer of your skincare routine (but before sunscreen). You can also mix a few drops of oil with your moisturiser.

A little about the labels:
In line with our policy of avoiding single use plastics, the labels we use on our bottles are made using uncoated paper. This means they can get a little untidy if the oil dribbles down the outside of the bottle. We think this is a better option than plastic coated labels and hope that you do too.
Avoid contact with the eyes, if irritation occurs discontinue use, do not use on broken or irritated skin. Consult your doctor before using essential oils during pregnancy.
